Riding Lessons

There are several important points to remember when discussing riding lessons at Strand's Arabian Stables. Jody Strand said himself, "My horses are very ridable, and the method that I use is very teachable." This comes in handy when taking lessons at Strands. From the beginning, Jody and the other instructors can teach and assist the student so that they can have an enjoyable lesson experience, and build on their own technique.

When students, both young and old, first come in, their riding skill level is evaluated. The instructor at Strands will take them from where they are and lead them through a positive riding and learning experience. Each lesson is personalized to each individuals riding ability with one-on-one instruction. The ultimate mission is to reach their personal riding goals, whether it is with a lesson horse, a show horse, or their own horse. Basic riding techniques are taught first. When the student advances, lessons can be given for Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, or Hunter Pleasure. Students may have a pleasure riding objective, or they may want to enjoy the excitement of showing, which the experts at Strand's do from March to November.

Lessons are available in a variety of packages:

• Single 30-minute Lessons: $30
• Package of 10 Individual 30-minute Lessons: $300
• Single 30-minute Lessons on Sunday: $40 per lesson
